Tarp

[General Product Description]:
[Weight Claimed]: 6.3 oz
[Weight Actual]: 6.29 oz
7 X 4.7 X 8.5 feet 185 X 145 X 280cm (front width x rear width x length x ridge length) This is a standard shape cantery cut tarp. It has six guy-out points. One at each corner, one at each end, and two located midway down the edge of the tarp. As with all tarps poles are provided by the owner.
The tarp came with about 30 ft of very thin cord, a 5″x8″ swatch of spinntex cloth, and a tube of McNett Silnet seam sealer.

[Initial Thoughts]:
The tarp came quickly once shipped and arrived stuffed in its stuff sack. The material quality was outstanding. The craftsmanship, all work is done by hand at MLD, was top notch. I was impressed at the level of detail seen to in the construction of the tarp.
As soon as I opened the package I weighed it. It was spot on with their claims. All hardware was small. But very well made. Not cheap like so many other ‘light weight’ deals I have tried. The cut of the cloth made it easy to pitch tight from the first time to the last time I used it.

[General Use]:
I use this tarp in rain or shine and in freezing temps. I use it in conjunction with a bivy to control rain splatter. I only hike with one pole so tying the tarp directly to the ground or a tree or bush is necessary.

[Major Events]:
None

[Long Term Thoughts]:
I’ll let you know!
