Lipton Pasta/Rice Sides
Everything tonight was a Knorr’s Lipton Pasta/Rice Sides. We all fixed one, from the list, and we all tried them. We fixed them camping style(*) rather than by the directions. The review includes looks, taste, cooking time, and texture. So don’t take this as a objective review. It is a FUNCTIONAL review for our purposes only.
Food List (I’m sorry if the names aren’t perfect):
Alfredo Broccoli (Whole Grain) (* )
Chicken Flavored Alfredo (whole Grain) (* )
Creamy Rice and Chicken flavored sauce (** )
Spanish Rice (*** )
Nacho sauce with pasta (** )
Whole Grain Fettuccini with chicken flavored sauce and vegetables (* )
All in all we weren’t too impressed. We are definately going to try others. We haven’t decided what yet. Note that we added precooked canned chicken to every meal. I will say that everyone of the packages absorbed the water and were ready to eat much faster than I expected. We will see how others hold up.
(*) Camp style- We poured the contents of one package into a 40 oz freezer bag. Then added the canned chicken and up to two cups of water. We removed all of the excess air and sealed them up. We did not use cozies or other insulation.
