MY THRU HIKE

Not even finished moving in yet… Ugh.

Back story: Haven’t had a job in six months. I’ve been living with the parents. Finally got a call, took the job. Obviously… Found an apartment on the north west side of Atlanta. Close to my job but far enough outside of town to get a decent school for my tween-ager. That’s what their called right?

So when I left Georgia the last time. I packed to travel light. That meant no furniture and most of our stuff was packed into a storage container. Well, with me, and my family living with my parents I didn’t need furniture. My extended family was in desperate need, so we provided. The down side is we were living in an emtpy apartment, on the floor, for two weeks!

Enter Craig’s List in a bright shiney cape and tights…

We found a bed frame, mattress/box spring, and bedside tables for my daughter as well as a bed frame for me and the misses.  Nothing else so far. Plus, my dear wife is having a VERY hard time finding a job. What’s worse is this is the first time she hasn’t landed the job she wanted in less than a week. So she’s stressed. As we all would be. So the furniture buying is on hold until she does get placed.

On the good and bright side of all of this, I am very close to Kennesaw Mountain. I’m not as close to the AT as I was. But we are still near enough for a weekend day hike at our pleasure. Yay! I haven’t had a chance to take said opportunity. But I have already gone through my camping gear and spread out the sleeping bags. So we are only a few weeks away from me shoot back to the woods! I haven’t been hiking since I was in Virginia. That’s a little more than a year ago. My hiking organ is aching… BAD!!!

It all comes down to waiting for the extra income we need to get our priorities handled correctly and for me to acclimate to my new job. We are also down one car which worries us both. But we will make it work. CCT just isn’t MARTA… Oh well…
