Looking for a Camera?

One of the big questions I had when I was preparing for my ‘non-thru-hike’. And one I hear a lot when talking with people that are long time, and short time, backpackers is which camera to carry.
At first glance this can seem to be a very easy question. But after many an advice given and received. I have decided that the ease of this decision is not so easy. There are so many factors to deal with. Factors like, level of experience of the user, OS (Operating System, such as Mac, Windows, Linux, etc) of the user’s computer, type if sport (whether hiking, backpacking, etc), and the size of the user’s budget can really effect which camera would be the best purchase.
Thanks to LifeHacker, I have found a great tool to aid in this decision. BestInClass.com allows you to pick the criteria such as type of use, maximum price, camera type, accessories, and others. Then it lists for you the highest rated cameras that match your choices from experts in the field! I love it! I have only used it a few times so far. But I have found it to be fairly accurate as far as I see things!
